A week-long artistic retreat, the X2 Art Holiday allows guests to really experience the treasures and pleasures of Umbria, rich in medieval hill towns and local cuisine noted for its foraged truffles and regional wines.


Guided by artists Wendy Roylance and Virginia Griffith-Jones, with more than 20 years collective experience, both teaching and practising art; the holiday is an opportunity to explore the region’s landscapes and traditions on trips to Spoleto, known for its olive groves and vineyards, as well as Assisi, the renowed the birthplace of St. Francis.













Throughout the holiday there will be a balance of art-appreciation, creating art and relaxation. Non-painting partners are welcome as well.

The week will include:

Informal tutorials

Sketching and painting: exploring Italian techniques


Cooking (and eating) delicious Italian food: a pasta-making cooking session is included


Painting and sketching tutorials will offer a chance to develop your painting by exploring some of the Italian techniques, creating work inspired by the surrounding landscape.

The holiday is also an opportunity for non-painting partners to enjoy Umbria’s art history, its captivating culture and explore its enchanting landscapes and towns.


Partners can opt into art sessions if they feel inspired, take part in pasta-making, and of course enjoy plenty of time relaxing by the pool or with a glass of local wine on the terrace.



The X2 holiday is hosted at Villa Campo Verde, a C17th luxury villa that has been beautifully restored in harmony with the Italian history.

All rooms include en-suite bathrooms, and there are ample areas both inside and out in which you can sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Flights are not included in the holiday price, however transfers to and from the airport are included, as well as any travel during your stay.


All meals are home-prepared on site using locally sourced in- gredients and taking inspiration from the region’s culinary tra- ditions. We all dine together, on the outdoor terrace when the weather permits, or in a large dining room on cooler evenings. Two lunches during the holiday will be taken out on day trips, these are not included in the cost of the holiday.
